Description:
Confiserie Benji Limited is a social enterprise, was established in May 2002 and was granted the sole reseller of famous Belgian chocolates “Leonidas” in Hong Kong. Leonidas was founded in 1913. She is the largest praline manufacturer in Belgium and occupies more than 70% market share of fresh chocolate in Europe. Owing to the uncompromising commitment to Quality, Freshness and Choice, over 110 kinds of Leonidas chocolates handmade in Belgium, are freshly flown in weekly.
The Company currently operates six chocolate shops in Hong Kong (located in ifc mall, Sogo Department Store, Ocean Centre, Jusco Kornhill Store, Maritime Square and Yata Department Store), a French restaurant, La Parole and a Café located in Maritime Square, employing more than 60 employees. Confiserie Benji Limited is a social enterprise as all the revenue generated after deducting the necessary expenses will be contributed to Benji’s Centre. Benji’s Centre is the first and currently the only charitable organization providing specialized professional speech therapy to children and teenagers with communication problems, particularly those from low income families. 70% of our children enjoy fee remission, the remaining 30% pay a fee equals to half of the private therapy charge. More than 700 children have received our service since establishment and currently we are serving 260 cases, with over two hundred cases on our waiting list.
Being a social enterprise, supporting and operating a charitable organization, we strive to achieve our social goals and objectives while serving the community with pride. The Company was highly regarded and was titled as a successful social enterprise by the Government of HKSAR at the Social Enterprise Summit in December 2007 and Government website (www.hab.gov.hk)
