About this member

Description:

At HKWJ Tax Law & Partners Limited we provide international and local tax advice from out of Hong Kong as we all know that the duty to pay tax will always be there. This includes tax beneficial structures for corporations and private individuals/small & medium enterprises.

As Hong Kong and Mainland China are emerging markets, we have noted that sophisticated tax advice in Asia has become increasingly in demand. Further, as a result of recent pressure from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (`OECD`), several jurisdictions, including Hong Kong, have decided that Exchange of Information should be part of their tax legal system. In fact, Hong Kong has changed its law in order to allow for extensive exchange of information on tax `persons` and has also concluded several double taxation treaties (almost 22) that include the latest OECD Model provisions. In addition, many other jurisdictions in the world are changing their tax system in order to make these less subject to evasion or avoidance in general.
The above developments require therefore sophisticated tax planning internationally, but also in Asian countries such as Hong Kong and Mainland China and also in offshore jurisdictions such as BVI, TCI and The Republic of Seychelles.

We, at HKWJ Tax Law & Partners Limited, advise corporations on financial transactions, debt restructurings, hybrid loans, acquisitions & alienations, stock options, stock lending & repo transactions, bond issues, fiscal unities, holding structures, transfer pricing and corporate structuring in general. In addition, this would include advance tax rulings and/or advance pricing agreements, fiscal due diligence and tax compliant work.

Private individuals at the other hand will be advised in areas of trust and foundations, in other words in the area of succession planning. As for corporations, this would include fiscal due diligence and tax compliant work.
