Description: 
 
Cargolux operates a fleet of sixteen 747-400 freighters. A unique feature of the B747-400F is the four independently adjustable air-conditioning zones which allow the transportation of various temperature-sensitive shipments, such as livestock and perishables, on the same flight.
 
 
With a spacious nose cargo door, the Cargolux B747-400 freighter is ideally suited for outsized cargo, such as pipelines or oil-drilling equipment, which does not fit through the side cargo door of older, converted B747 aircraft.
 
Cargolux's hub-and-spoke operations combine B747 capacity with direct trucking to and from the major European centres through more than 40 gateways around the world, with even more destinations available on interline. Other services include long/short term wet/dry leasing, aircraft maintenance, refurbishing, worldwide full and subcharter service.
China Activity: 
Following the signing of the route annex to an air service agreement between the governments of Luxembourg and China in February 1998, Cargolux Airlines International was granted permanent traffic and landing rights in Shanghai. Since December 2005, Cargolux operates daily B747-400 services between Luxembourg and Shanghai. In additon to Shanghai, Cargolux has a once-a-week service connecting Beijing, Xiamen and Luxembourg.  In Hong Kong, there are 10 weekly frequencies linking Hong Kong and Luxembourg.
